It's not seizures!

We were so relieved to find out today, after Cade's third EEG, that his twitching/spazms are not seizures! It is something called benign sleep myoclonus. Basically, it is just seizure like movements that happen during sleep and it goes away on it's own after about 3 months of age when the sleep patterns mature. It can be mistaken for epilepsy because it looks so similar but Cade's EEG's proved to be just the myoclonus-which is such exciting news for us! We've been so stressed out the past few weeks with what we thought were the seizures and his surgery coming up-it's so great to have some good news finally:) Anyway, his surgery is scheduled for this Thursday at noon so please keep him in your prayers for us. We're very nervous but excited to get this whole process over with!

Here's a few cute things Camden has been doing as a new older brother....

-He loves his little brother so much that the first thing he does when he wakes up in the morning is run into the Cade's room and climb up on the crib to look in on him. He then gets very mad at me when I make him leave him alone so that Cade can keep sleeping.

-If Cade ever starts crying very hard Camden gets so concerned and sometimes will even start crying himself.

-Camden always tries to share his Isa bear with Cade and he LOVES his bear so that's pretty special:)

-If he's ever eating or drinking something he tries to share that with the baby as well...we try to explain to him that babies can't drink fom sippy cups and they definalety can't eat crackers.

-My favorite....whenever he comes home from an outing with Creston or from being at a babysitter he walks in, usually carrying his diaper bag/backpack over his shoulder and walks straight up to his baby brother, leans over, and gives him a kiss on the head. He then walks straight over to me and gives me a hug and a kiss on the lips. He does this before anything else everytime...it's so cute! It's just what Creston does when he gets home from work-I wonder if he's imitating his daddy?

He's the best older brother and he loves Cade a little too much sometimes:) He is always kissing and hugging him, wanting to help change his diaper or dress him, and wanting to help bathe and feed him. It makes for crazy days in our house lately!

I'm glad you finally got some good news. How cute is Camden loving his brother so much. I hope Ecksen will be like that with his younger sibling.

So had he not been having what looked like seizures, would they have still found the problem with his skull?

We will remember him in our prayers. Hopefully the little guy is doing ok. And Camden is such a sweetie!
